If you need to contact a credit reporting agency regarding your credit report, they will usually require that you have a copy of your credit report in hand. Somewhere on the report there will be an ‘access number’ or ‘report number’ that the bureaus will request of you.

- Get a copy of your credit report from each credit reporting agency. There are three main agencies, Trans Union, Experian, and Equifax.
